Online tools

  • Online dictionaries: The teacher may ask the students to look up words that they don't understand in a text and then compare the meanings and the sites with the ones that their classmates have found.
  • Mentimeter: The teacher asks the students what they think or may know about a certain topic, such as past simple, before teaching it in order to get a general idea. This tool allows the repeated words to be highlighted.

  • Quizlet: The teacher prepares cards with new vocabulary already seen in class, such as ways of, so that the students can practise and grasp it.

  • Prezi: The teacher asks the students to prepare a group presentation about the topic they are dealing with such as society issues. With this tool they can add images and videos.

  • Google drive: The teacher asks the students to write a narrative in pairs. This is helpful because they can exchange creative ideas without necessarily having to be together. After they have finished the teacher can provide feedback by adding comments on the final work.

  • Podcasts: In order to practise speaking skills, the teacher asks the students to record an interview to one of his or her classmates.

This is me

Hi! My name is Elizabet Gonzalez and I'm 21 years old. I have been studying at the teaching training college for three years so far, and I have been working as a private teacher since 2017. I have always wanted to become a teacher. One of the many things that encourage me to choose this course is that I feel that through teaching I can make a diference in this world. As one of my favourite quotes says "To teach is to touch a life forever."
I have high expectations this year. One of them is being able to add more technology to my lessons in order to make them more dynamic and appealing.
I'm attending ICT at UTN, a subject delivered by Lic. Paula Ledesma. We were asked to create our own sites and introduce ourselves as a project.
I hope you're all well! See you around!
